Collage with Encaustic Medium
I started using encaustic medium with my collage work and I have been totally taken with the beauty and possibilities it offers. The wax transforms the paper giving it a translucent quality and the surprise of seeing both sides of the paper at once. The wax also preserves the aged papers I like to use in my work. My Process in making a collage is to work in a very intuitive way, the collage evolves through the pile of materials in front of me. It’s all trial and error.
